Karen has always been attracted to bright colours and jewellery since she was a child; a childhood surrounded by art and nature, travelling the world with her family in the RAF. She is first and foremost a wildlife and pet portrait artist, having been awarded many accolades and prizes for her art. Using multi-media, Karen has enjoyed the opportunity to tutor art for Norfolk County Councils adult education programme. Whilst researching for silver clay workshops, she discovered polymer clay which became more fascinating as she explored the possibilities for its use in creative jewellery. She even created polymer clay canes that reflect her love of wildlife. Tutoring polymer clay workshops in Norfolk and Suffolk has allowed her to explore new ideas. Her most recent achievement has been to transfer her wildlife and pet paintings and original photographs onto her jewellery; as with all her jewellery, each piece is unique and wearable.
