Abstract Layering:
Joanna attended the Norwich Art School in late 1960, undertaking Fabric design. This then brought her to the attention of the Norwich manufacturing company, designing and hand embellishing heels and handbags, some of which are still on display to date in The Bridewell Museum.
Furthering her design knowledge, janna worked in the design department of Caley Mackintosh before beginning a full career as a film production buyer in London, working on television shows such as Tales of the unexpected, before eventually returning to Norwich. Joanna extended her skills further by attending Middlesex University studying Visual Communication and design.
In her hometown of Norwich, Joanna became a member of The Warehouse Artists Studios attending courses in silk screen painting and also became a tutor for paper making.
Her work has now progressed to abstract layers with a dreamlike sequence of events surrounding people and place.
